GAMES AND PUZZLES!

Cut into 80 interconnecting triangles with a fair number of false edges, this small colorful puzzle is pleasantly challenging. Note these puzzle pieces are smaller than our average pieces, and may not be suitable for young'ins. The image was painted in 1917 by the Russian artist Arkady Rylov. This 258 piece puzzle shows a 19th century woodblock print by Utagawa Kuniyoshi of 53 cats and one octopus (the signature animal of Kuniyoshi). The full title of this work is "Cats Suggested as the 53 Stations of Tokaido." The puzzle pieces have a grid design with numerous cat-shaped whimsy pieces running amok (click on the small picture below the puzzle image to see example pieces), and were designed by Seattle artist Tara Flannery. This 254 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle features one of Los Angeles artist Joe Vaux's paintings with his characteristic nature-gone-wild flair. This 72 piece puzzle features Varangians - the Nordic river pirate cousins of the Vikings. The painting is by Nicholas Roerich and was painted in 1901. The image was painted by the German expressionist Franz Marc in 1912. The puzzle pieces were designed by Seattle artist Maria Berg. This 76 piece puzzle is a classic example of 17th century Dutch Baroque maritime painting by the master of the genre Abraham Storck, and shows whalers in the arctic fighting with polar bears. Note: to make the puzzle more challenging NO PICTURE is included with the puzzle, which is packaged in our standard drawstring bag. This 66 piece puzzle was Viktor Vasnetsov's 1885 set-design for the Palace of Tsar Berendei for Rimski-Korsakov's opera about the Snow Maiden. The puzzle pieces were designed by Maria Berg and include whimsy pieces representing the Snow Maiden, the Tsar, and others.
